The global community relies on nature-based solutions to protect people, optimize infrastructure, and safeguard a stable and biodiverse future. We designed the Regenerative Energy® Solar Standard to meet the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions and help meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our standard also provides an additional solar industry-specific contribution to keeping human-induced warming to less than 1.5 degrees below pre-industrial levels.
A Regenerative Energy® project helps address multiple societal challenges, including climate change, food security, water security, and economic and social development. Regenerative Energy® will not single handedly solve these challenges, but it can transform the way the solar industry designs and constructs facilities and manages land. The Regenerative Energy Solar Standard offers you the option to apply Regenerative Energy® EcoMetrics to a project. This is an equally robust and transparent, stakeholder-informed methodology to accurately track, assess, and capture, in an audit-ready report, the full value of environmental, social, and economic impacts of the project. Applying Regenerative Energy® Ecometrics to a project will greatly assist the project developer in meeting the Regenerative Energy® Solar Standard criteria.
